Abstract: This documentary is not something you watch quickly and then discard, it offers great insights as to what makes our lives hopful, joyful and meaningful. "Young at Heart" is a special statement to all humans -- young and older.

Key Words: Reflection Life Attitudes Sucide

1. Brief introduction of the documentary

The documentary movie called "Young@Heart" is a real story of a group of chorus people with an average age of eighty the chorus depicted in the movie of the same name was established in 1982 in Northhampton, Massachusetts. The singers sing contemporary and classic rock and pop songs and have performed concerts around the world.

2. The most inspirational movies and a good message about life

I wasn't expecting much from this documentary so was delightfully surprised when I found myself being drawn in and captivated as I watched it on the net. I laughed and cried and had to watch it again the next day, which is something I rarely do.

I liked it because it was moving. I was moved by the elders’ enthusiasm for life. At their age they all went up and down through the life, and suffered a lot.but they still posses an optimism of heart, some of them lived through both World Wars, one of them even had fought in the War, and another, lost her husband in the World War.but she still told jokes and sang with the chorus till she was 100 years old. I was moved by the elders’ love for music. Can you imagine performing less than an hour after hearing one of your fellow choir members has died?... I know it choked me up. One member has had enough chemotherapy to kill most people. He's still hoping to make the concert even after a recurrence of cancer. Another vows to come back from a severe heart attack and rejoin the group. I was so deeply moved by their dedication to the group effort to put on a fine show: an 83 years old member coming to rehearsals with an oxygen tank, hospitalized seniors practicing from their hospital beds when they couldn't make it to rehearsal. It's clear how much being a part of this chorus meant to them. And I was deeply shocked by their ability and desire to learn songs that are way out of their "normal" range of musical tastes. rock and pop songs are not an easy job even for me, but with persistance and determination these owasome elders overcome problems of pitch, rhythm, and lyrics to deliver a delightful performance, and have captured the imagination of the entire world.

Why? And what keeps them going? It’s their young heart!Do we youth all posses such kind of young heart? No, not all!

3. Suicide risk high for young people

Now and then, we will hear someone around us depressed or suffering from mental illness, even committing suicide because of “Negative life events”. Yes, Life presents us with many challenges, some more difficult than others. Relationship problems, financial worries, job stress and other problems can be overwhelming and can often lead to depression. According to WHO statistics, over the past 50 years, the world's suicide rate increased by 60%. a recently published global medical research indicates that around the world each year about one million people committed suicide, of which 30% came from China. And suicide has become China's 15-year-old to 34-year-old young adults group's first cause of death.

4. Young at Heart should change our life

What shall we do? We should remember that everything that happens helps us grow, even if it’s hard to see right now.Circumstances will direct us, correct us, and perfect us over time. So whatever we do, hold on to hope. And remember that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstances, but by our attitude. Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind. Possess a young heart just as these eleders do. With a young heart, we’ll receive messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, with a young heart, we’ll always believe that there is a light at the end of the tunnel,no matter where we are or what we’re going through;with a young heart,we’ll have a view in our heart, and can see the bloom of flowers. As long as the view is in our heart, aren’t our lives blooming forever just like the elders of young@heart?
