The Outstanding Experts'Explanation: Knowledge on cultural relics has been published by Shandong Education Press, which consists of six volumes: Bronze Ware, Jade Ware, Ceramic, Painting, Calligraphy and Craft. Each volume includes approx. 100,000 characters, illustrated with 200 color drawings. The series of books is all based on academic achievements of top-ranking experts in cultural relics, giving a detailed introduction to the time, excavated site, shape and structure, function, artistic characteristics and values of each cultural relic. The series has the following characteristics:

I Content arrangement accords with the dynasty alternation, showing the historicalroute of cultural relics' development

Based on dynasty alternation, each volume of this series is divided into several subjects according to its specific content. For example, in the "About Jade" of the "Jade Ware Volume", jade is classified into over thirty varieties, such as "semi-annular jade pendant", "flat circular jade with a hole centrally", "hollow jade with rectangular sides", "jade tablet", "cut jade tablet", "tiger-shaped jade", "Dushan Jade Sea" and "'King Yu Tamed the Flood' Jade Mountain". This chapter also introduces each variety in accordance with their dynasty order. Take "jade cup" as an example. This series sorts out the jade cup in different dynasties in a clear manner, including the existing earliest "peach-shaped jade cup in a royal tomb of the Warring States period" excavated in Jin Village, "jade stem cup" excavated from a tomb of the Qin Dynasty, "white jade stem cup" of the Three Kingdoms Period excavated in Luoyang City of Henan, jade cups of various forms in the Tang Dynasty and jade cups of great varieties in the Ming Dynasty. Therein, it highlights the peerless "horn-shaped jade cup" excavated from the Tomb of the Nanyue King in the Western Han Dynasty.
