高考前夕,一组高三学生在教室里集体打吊瓶的照片在网络上广为传播。湖北省孝感一中高三(3)班,这个被网民冠以“史上最刻苦吊瓶班”称号的班级,一时成了媒体聚焦的热点。面对巨大的升学压力,学生和家长可谓“动足脑筋”——输液还算平常,更有甚者会定期做高压氧治疗和服用药物。有人将此举比作“头悬梁,锥刺股”、“吃得苦中苦,方为人上人”,但究竟这种做法是否值得标榜呢?

It is reasonable for students to keep their bodies in a perfect condition during exam preparation through such ways.

First, students have to try every means to do their best in the examination because their performance at the college entrance examination may greatly affect the rest of their lives. “The fluid in the infusion bags was amino acids to power up the students,” said an official from the school.

Second, students believe that although taking infusions in class seems painful, it is a way to surpass others.“I don’t think it’s inappropriate at all,” said one of the students in that classroom.“Students preparing for the college entrance examination at our school began to take infusions of amino acids years ago and some of them took infusions more than once.”

In conclusion, the college entrance examination puts so much pressure on students that they need to find ways to deal with it. Amino acid infusion can not only help them keep strong but also give them psychological support.

For students in good health, infusion of amino acids is not necessary at all.

First, only those suffering serious diseases need infusions. Technically speaking, although amino acids serve as the building blocks of proteins, excessive intake of protein will increase the burden on the kidneys and cause a loss of calcium. Furthermore, intravenous infusion(静脉注射)may cause some bad reactions of the body, such as trembling and sweating. Therefore, amino acid infusion can do more harm than good to students’ health.

Second, high school students are in the best physical conditions. But when schools offer amino acid infusions to them, some students may believe that they are so weak that medicine is a must. This is a bad psychological hint(心理暗示) which will make students unconfident and dependent on medical assistance.

After all, what students need is to keep a balanced diet. If they really need more energy, they can have extra meals.
