PeAnutS Cracks Big Screen Again
Good news！ Charlie Brown and the Peanuts注1 gang take another crack at the big screen！
The round-headed kid， his dog Snoopy and the rest of the cast[人物阵容] of Charles Schulz’s beloved comic strip[四格漫画] are already the stars of numerous TV specials[电视专题片]， including holiday fare such as A Charlie Brown Christmas注2.
But producer Craig Schulz， one of Charles’sons， believes it’s time for a new movie treatment with the animated[动画的] Peanuts （due out[待发] on Nov. 6th， 2015）. The last time Peanuts characters saw feature-length[达到正片长度的] screen time was with 1980’s Bon Voyage， Charlie Brown.
“It’s long overdue[逾期的]，” says Schulz. “The fans have been asking for a long time， but we held off[推迟] until the time was right.”
The death of the creator in 2000， after a 50-year career of crafting[精心制作] the strip， further delayed any appearances at the cinema. Craig Schulz says they have vigilantly[留心地] protected the integrity[完整性] of the characters， leading to a cautious approach in taking on[接纳] any project.
“I’m way more protective than my father would have been，” says Schulz. “Our No. 1 goal was always to be authentic[真实的] to his work.”
Peanuts， which includes a screenplay[电影剧本] from Craig’s screenwriter son Bryan and his writing partner Cornelius， calmed any fears. “With my father， there are three generations of Schulz on this film，” says Craig.
The filmmakers are keeping Peanuts’ plot details under wraps[不公开的] （“it’s about a round-headed kid and his dog， and that’s about as far as I’m willing to go，” says Craig）. But the story will bring together the entire cast from the strips and Bill Melendez’s famous television specials注3.
Additions include the unveiling of Charlie Brown’s lifelong crush[暗恋]， which is only known as “the Little Red-Haired Girl.” Martino is excited about exploring the Peanuts world with detailed animation （“We’ll see that Snoopy has soft-white fur”） and exploring traditionally imagined realms[领域] such as Snoopy’s World War I fighter-pilot adventures.
“We’re going to fly with Snoopy in his fantasy world，” says Martino. “We have a bigger canvas. Bill Melendez got Snoopy off the ground[在进行中] in the TV specials. We’re going to take it a step further.”
Critics[影评人] have balked[回避] at the notion of a 3-D film with computer-generated imagery[电脑成像] for the classic characters. But Craig believes his father would have embraced the technology.
“It would have been absolutely logical[合逻辑的] for him to have come onboard，” he says. “And it brings you closer into the comic strip.”
Producer Paul Feig calls the 3-D “effortless[容易的]”and everyone is working to ensure that the “sweet optimism” of the original material remains.“Snoopy will not be rapping[饶舌]， no one will be twerking[跳电臀舞]， we’re in good hands[受到十分好的照料].”he says.
Since Martino has read the comic strip faithfully， the film and story will remain classic， focusing on Charlie Brown’s perpetually[永恒地] positive attitude. He vows[立誓] to bring this message into a new world， however cynical[讽刺的].
“Charlie Brown is the guy who picks himself up after every fall and tries again. That’s what is powerful to me，” says Martino. “These characters are known and loved worldwide， and now we have an opportunity to bring them to a new generation.”

影评人回避了3D电影利用电脑成像技术来还原经典角色的概念。不过克雷格相信他的父亲一定会欢迎这种技术的。
“他完全有理由赞成使用这种技术，”他说。“因为这种技术可以让人们更近距离地感受四格漫画。”
制片人保罗・费格认为3D技术“毫不费力”，而且每个人都在尽力还原原作里的那种“乐观主义”。“史努比不会唱饶舌，也没有人会跳电臀舞。我们把原作处理得很好。”他说。
由于马蒂诺是该漫画的忠实读者，电影里的故事会保留着原作的经典，着重体现查理・布朗不变的乐观心态。即使这种心态常常受到讽刺，他还是立誓要把这个信息带到一个新的世界。
“查理・布朗每次遇到挫折都会重新振作、不断尝试。我从他那里感受到了满满的正能量，”马蒂诺说道。“这些角色为全世界所知，并且大受欢迎，而现在，我们有机会把他们带给下一代了。”
