Abstract：Natural landscape is the cities’ advantaged natural resources. However in recent years， a series of problems emerged such as the destruction of the urban ecological natural landscape and the disappearance of the landscape city’s local characteristics. From the aspects of ecological aesthetics， this thesis analyses the current situation and existing problems in urban design and puts forward suggestions and strategies.

1. Introduction
Chinese traditional culture pays too much attention to the coordination between the natural environment and the cities. Most cities have superior landscape environment and high ecological and tourism value. But with the rapid expansion of the urban space and the destruction of the original natural ecological landscape， the aesthetic artistic conception of Chinese traditional urban natural landscape gradually disappeared. The current important problem which should be solved immediately is how to use the method of urban design to join the construction of ecological city with natural resources together perfectly.
2. The combination of urban design and natural landscape
Our country is a mountainous country. Many cities may have the advantage of near the mountain or by the river. City natural landscape is an important component of urban space and is closely related to human life.
The integration of natural landscape and urban design needs to use the method of urban design to maintain a balanced development of the ecological environment. When you shape the urban space form， it must have an impact on the urban ecological environment. This is an inevitable conflict. But urban design must be established on the basis of the protection and respect for the natural landscape.
However it doesn’t mean that natural landscape system is completely unable to be changed. The key is whether you respect the objective law when you change it. We should pay attention to the coordination between artificial environment and the natural ecological environment so as to make them concordant.
Natural landscape is one of the elements of city image which can’t be reshaped. Therefore each city should make good use of the natural landscape and regard it as an important part of the city. And this can beautifully compose images of the city
3. Problems modern landscape design faced
4.3 Build open green space framework
In urban design， we should make full use of natural landscape and establish open space on the basis of protecting ecological environment so as to form a healthy and ecological open space framework. In the process of urban planning and construction in Ankang in Shanxi province， designer introduced Han River into city to form half open green ecological region. It not only made full use of the waterfront natural advantages but also provided citizens a place for water recreation.
4.4 Mutual penetration of artificial landscape and natural landscape
Urban design combined with the natural landscape should be in the pursuit of harmonious coexistence of the natural environment and city development instead of blindly and completely succumbing to the natural environment. The urban space design is not rigid practice. It is like something naturally “growing”from the environment. Only in this way can we improve the quality of landscape space and achieve the inter-amalgamation of natural environment and artificial environment.
5. Summary
China has good conditions of natural landscape. So it is necessary to combine urban ecological design with natural landscape. The design method by integrating natural landscape into urban design has profound implications for building cities with hills and waters which demonstrates a distinct character of charming. We hope we can reasonably use natural elements of the city to combine natural landscape with city and create a unique urban style well integrated with physical environment.
