1. The King of Chu State（Xiong Heng），accompanied by Song Yu， Jing Cuo， went sightseeing in Lantai Palace. Suddenly， a gust of wind blew over with rustling and he，facing to breeze with shirt untucked， exclaimed “ How cool the wind is！ Is this the wind which I enjoy together with my people？” Song Yu answered， “No， this is just for your enjoyment，majesty. How could the common people enjoy it with you！”
2. The king got confused and refuted “The wind is a kind of air which flows between the heaven and earth freely and universally. Everyone can enjoy it no matter he is rich or not when it blows over. While now you think that I am the only person who can enjoy it， are there any special reasons？” Song Yu replied “I heard from my teachers that orange trees are easy to attract birds to nest because of twisting and polychotomous branches； an empty hole invites the wind. So the intensity of the wind in one place differs from another based on different environmental conditions.”
3. The King asked“So what’s the birthplace of the wind？” Song Yu responded “It comes into being from the earth and starts from the head of fresh green grass and then gradually spreads to valleys. It roars at the mouth of cave and dances in the forest full of pines and cypress after passing the col of mountains. Strong wind blows here and there，making the objects colliding each other. Then the violent wind soars off like a surge of great fury with thundering howl echoing in the sky. Meanwhile， the wind from different directions intersects and it is strong enough to make sands and stones move around. It rushes into forests and fields and destroys trees and branches. Then the wind weakens and it gradually dies down， so it can only shake bolts of doors when penetrating into small holes. After the wind stopping， the scenery looks more clear and brighter than before and the breeze blows gently in all directions. Afterwards，the wind which makes people feel cool and easy flows up-and-down and comes into palace after passing high walls. It sways flowers and grass， leaving nice smelling of fragrance in the air. It circles around laurel and pepper trees and hovers above torrential flow. It wafts lotus in the water， sweeps over holy basil， separates asarum forbesii maxim with two sides， bends lily magnolia which makes them cover newly emerged trees and grass. Then it sharply circles around the sky and rushes into hills， which makes various kinds of flowers and grass wither away. The wind is hovering in the yard and afterwards goes north into palace until interior after passing through silk bed-curtain. That’s the wind what the King enjoyed. So people who enjoy that kind of wind feel cold and chilling and exclaim about it. The wind is cool and refreshing. It can both cure illness and alleviate hangover，which makes people have a physical and mental body. This is what I said that the wind can only be enjoyed by the King.”
4. The king echoed， “Wonderful explanation！ But the wind for my people， could you also let me know its details？” Yu song replied， “The wind which common people experienced comes into being all of sudden from bleak and remote alleys and blows against any holes and doors irritatedly with floating dust. Then these floating dust together with filthy or rotten garbage are blown into interior through window made by broken jar mouth. So the people who experience this kind of wind would feel upset and depressed and may get damp diseases because of stuffiness. Lip gets herpes labialis and eyes red sore when they are stricken by this kind of wind. People who suffer from disease because of the wind grit their teeth or yell，leaving them half-dead. This is the wind experienced by common people.”
