Rule 1. Stand up for yourself 支持自己

“I have to trust other people’s opinions because they’ve been doing this so much longer. But if I feel strongly about something, I’ll say it. In the beginning, because I was so young, people didn’t respect my opinions as much as they do now. I had to work hard to earn my way to where I am right now.”

Rule 2. Be true to your roots 忠诚

“The hardest thing about my job is being away from my family and friends―the people I love and grew up with, the people I know, and miss. But I call them all the time. Every day I email and send text messages. It’s really important to keep in touch with people I knew before I made it.”

Rule 3. Be grateful 感恩的心

“People always ask what I’ve missed out on, being famous. But if I wasn’t doing this, I’d feel like I was missing out! I have to be very grateful for the chance I’ve been given, whatever point in my life it happened.”

Rule 4. Don’t rush into love 不要冲动地谈恋爱

“I’m single at the moment, and although I’d like a boyfriend, I won’t get into a relationship if I’m not totally feeling it. I don’t care whether a guy is famous or not, but if I had to pick a celeb, Orlando Bloom’s cute. But I haven’t met him yet!

Rule 5. Remember, even superstars are human! 清醒冷静

“With Justin, I was extremely nervous because I’m a huge fan. I was like, ‘Ohmigod, I’m gonna meet Justin Timberlaker!’ But he’s just the coolest guy―really funny and great to work with.”

Rule 6. Stay young 心态保持年轻

“This business forced me to mature quickly. I have to makedecisions and be a lot more responsible. But I’m still young and I like to do young things―hang out with friends and have fun, drive around and listen to music―that kinda stuff. It’s really important.”

Rule 7. Spend time with successful types 与成功人士接触

“I’ve got quite a few celeb friends like Omarion, and Hayden Panettiere from Heroes. I met her when I filmed Bring It On: All Or Nothing, and we hang out and just catch up. She’s a really cool girl, and we have lots in common.”

Rule 8. Admit you’re nervous 正视自己的紧张情绪

“I totally get scared before big red carpet dos, because I know it’s a big event and I’m there in front of loads of people. It’s impossible to feel comfortable because I’m so anxious but I just have to do it and eventually I get over my nerves.”

Rule 9. Ignore the rumors 忽视谣言

“I’ve been linked to Chris Brown, Omarion, Justin. None of it’s true. Like when I read about me leaving the Grammys with Justin, I was like, ‘That’s so random’, because I hadn’t even seen him! But I don’t take it seriously―I just think it’s funny.”

Rule 10. Be your own biggest fan 自恋

“I’m always going out without make-up. I don’t worry about the paparazzi because they catch you off guard anyway. You can’t let it put a downer on your life. And when I see stuff in magazines slagging off how I look I just ignore it. You have to do your thing with confidence.”
