A Reminder to Live Fears can limit you and stop you from living your life to its fullest. One of the most common fears is fear of death. Who wants to die without having fully lived? Think about the leaves in the fall. Why do they turn beautiful colors before letting go of the tree of life?

I think the colored leaves are telling us to stop being just another green leaf making the family tree happy by not being noticed or appearing unusual to the neighboring trees. When fall occurs they realize they have a limited time, they let go of the green and expose their uniqueness and beauty. They no longer care what anyone thinks.

Don’t wait for fall to come before bursting into the unique colors of your life. Take this moment to accept your mortality and use this realization to free yourself to become your authentic self. One way to face your fear of death is to clarify what that really means, and you can deal with specific fears and prepare for them. For instance, if you fear pain and suffering, isolation, extended medical treatments, or something else, you can talk to your health care providers, family, or spiritual advisor about exactly what decisions you’d like to make and what help you’ll need. Put the appropriate resources in place now, and gather the courage to accept rather than deny your mortality. This will help you heal your life and live it fully in the time you have.

不要等到秋天来临时才绽放生命的色彩。接受生命的有限性,解放自己,活出真我的风采。面对死亡的恐惧的一个办法是认清死亡到底意味着什么。现在开始就为具体恐惧之事做好准备,例如,要是害怕疼痛、隔离或长期治疗,可以与医疗机构、家人或心理咨询师相谈你的决定和求助。充分利用现有资源,要勇于接受而不是否定生命的有限性,这能帮你愈合生活的创伤,尽情享受拥有的生活。
