monkey　owns　a　mending　shop.　He　fixes　ripped　clothes　with　his　needle　and　thread.　One　day　a　wealthy　cat　ran　into　his　shop.

Cat　was　sweating　and　out　of　breath.　Her　heavy　coat　was　ripped.　The　hat　on　her　head　had　a　hole　in　it.

“May　I　help　you？”　asked　Monkey　in　a　pleasant　way.

“Fix　my　coat　and　hat！”　said　Cat，　“I　have　much　wealth　and　will　pay　you　well！”

“I　meant　to　fix　this　shirt　first，”　said　Monkey，　“Leave　your　coat　and　hat.　They　will　be　ready　in　a　day.”

“I　need　them　now！”　cried　cat.　“A　wealthy　cat　must　look　nice！”

Monkey　got　his　needle　and　thread.　Then　he　handed　them　to　Cat.　“I　will　show　you　how　to　mend，”　said　Monkey.

Cat　scratched　her　head.

Monkey　showed　the　wealthy　cat　how　to　thread　the　needle　with　a　steady　hand.　Then　he　showed　her　how　to　mend　the　hat　and　heavy　coat　with　thread.

Cat　sweated　as　she　pulled　the　thread.　At　last，　she　finished.　“Mending　is　hard，”　she　said　with　pride，　“But　I　did　it！”

When　Cat　was　ready　to　go，　she　gave　money　to　Monkey.

“Take　back　this　money，”　said　Monkey.　“You　did　the　job　instead　of　me.”

“You　showed　me　how　to　mend，”　said　Cat，　“That　is　better　than　money.”

猴子开了一家缝补店。他用针线缝补撕破的衣服。一天，一只富猫跑进店来。

猫大汗淋漓，气喘吁吁。她的厚大衣撕破了。她头上的帽子破了一个洞。

“需要我帮忙吗？”猴子愉快地问。

“把我的大衣和帽子补一下！”猫说，“我有很多钱，会好好酬谢你的！”

“我得先补这件衬衣，”猴子说，“把你的大衣和帽子放在这儿。一天后来取。”

“我现在就要！”猫叫道，“富猫必须穿得漂漂亮亮！”

猫临走的时候，付钱给猴子。

“你教我如何缝补，”猫说，“那是用钱买不到的。”
