1.口语表达能力是学习一门语言的最基本要求

语言学习的目的在于交流。特别是随着中国改革开发放加入WTO之后，各国随着经济交流的频繁，文化交流也日益增加，全球化已经成为了社会发展趋势。在交流中，英语作为世界通用的语言，显得格外重要。作为新时代的青年人，不仅仅需要掌握科学文化知识，还需要熟练掌握英语，以便适应全球化的大趋势。

2.“说”对其他能力的影响

一般学生一心为了中考取得高分，认为“说”的能力培养对中考无益。其实，这是一种错误的想法。口语表达能力，不仅仅对现实有益，在中考中，也有毋庸置疑的重要意义。口语表达分为两部分：一部分为发音，另一部分为表达逻辑（即英语语法知识）。

一方面，发音对于听力十分重要。如果学生平时发音错误，在听力时按照自己的错误发音方式，便会听不懂或者听错，是听力训练的一大障碍。而学生只有不断地听，才能研究正确的发音方式，从而达到听、说能力的相互促进。

另一方面，口语表达能力对其他能力的重要性。英语的学习本身便是为了通过口语表达，达到交流目的。除去发音因素，表达能力时时体现着学生的英语功底。交流中的用词的准确、合理，句子的用法是否正确，与我们的语法知识息息相关。

3.口语表达能力对于学生心理的影响

许多学生在学习英语时，羞于开口，害怕出错会被笑话，难以克服自己的恐惧心理。其实，英语口语的训练，也在训练学生的心理素质。疯狂英语的创始人———李阳，在教学时一直注重一个口号：“我们热爱丢脸”。鼓励学生将英语口语训练，作为一种心理障碍突破。英语要敢于说出来，在平时的生活中也要摒弃丢脸思想，勇于表达。这对于学生的成长也是十分重要的。

二、初中英语口语的教学方式

1.坚持以学生为本的教学理念

在任何课程教学中，“以学生为本”是每一位教师所应遵循的教学理念。而口语能力，更需要学生自己去表现，自己去锻炼，因此，在口语教学中，学生的主体性地位是毋庸置疑的。教师在平时的英语课堂中，鼓励学生全部用英语进行作答和交流。对于学生口语中存在的问题要以鼓励的态度对其进行分析、修正，让学生从畏惧说出口到勇于说出口，最终做到可以进行简单交流。

2.坚持课前三分钟的口语训练

在每一节课开始后的前三分钟，固定为口语训练期。教师要求全班学生轮流进行短暂的英语演讲活动。内容可以是自己的学习、生活故事，日常见闻，也可以表达自己对一些事物、风景的态度和感情。在内容设定时，要从易到难，内容可以丰富多彩，题材可以广泛多样。在演讲中，要悉心记下学生存在的口语问题，以便下课后，根据每个学生口语中出现的问题进行分别解决。对于学生存在的共性问题，进行集体纠正。在学生演讲完毕后，首先要带领全班同学向演讲者进行致谢，鼓励，然后找出其演讲稿中的闪光点进行点评，让学生们向他学习，树立学生勇于说出口的信心。
