Colin McRae Rally to Return in 2007

Codemasters has confirmed that it is developing a new Colin McRae Rally game for release in 2007. The game has been given the working title of CMR '07 and is in development for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. It will feature races with multiple cars on one track simultaneously, as well as online multiplayer. The series has been on a break for two years now, and the time has allowed Codemasters to implement racing modes that will supplement the traditional point-to-point rallying in the form of hill climb and rallycross events. PS3 Launch Date and Price Fixed

At a pre-Electronic Entertainment Expo conference, two questions that have been on gamers' minds were answered. Sony president Kaz Hirai revealed the PlayStation 3's price and launch date. The PS3 will be released in Japan on November 11, and the United States on November 17, 2006. Like the Xbox 360, the PS3 will come in two configurations, one with a 20GB hard drive and one with a 60GB hard drive. The 20GB will retail for $499 in the US and the 60GB will retail for $599. Sony expects to ship two million units in its first month of launch and four million by the end of the year.

Jade Empire Hitting PCs

One of last year's most anticipated Xbox games was Jade Empire, the innovative hybrid of kung-fu action and high fantasy from Canadian developer BioWare. Though not as rapturously received by critics as was expected, the game still scored solid reviews. On its official website, BioWare announced on May 8th that Jade Empire is coming to the PC. They let slip some details about how the PC Jade Empire will be different from its Xbox predecessor. It will sport "increased graphics resolutions and new visual effects" and contain "new monsters and enemies." On the gameplay front, it will sport "new fighting styles", "improved combat AI and difficulty levels" and a "new world map interface".
