After taking the audience into the world of toys, bugs, monsters, fish, and superheroes, the masterful storytellers at Pixar Animation Studios and Oscar winner director John Lasseter (Toy Story, Toy Story 2, A Bug’s Life), hit the road[出发] with a fast-paced comedy[喜剧] adventure set inside the world of cars.

Lightning McQueen is a beginner race car. Speeding on his way to the big Piston Cup Championship in California, he crashes into[闯入] Radiator Springs, destroying lots of the inhabitants’[居民] belongings. In order to make up for[补偿] what he did, he is sentenced to community service. While he is trying to get away from the work and go back to the big race, he gets to know the town's strange characters - including Sally (a snazzy[时髦的] 2002 Porsche), Doc Hudson (a 1951 Hudson Hornet with a mysterious past), and Mater (a rusty[生锈的] but trusty tow truck[拖车]). And they help him realize that life is about the journey, not the finish line. And there are more important things than prizes, fame and sponsorship[资助者].

Reportedly, no previous animation[动画片] has had as much depth and detail as Cars, and Lasseter has never shown more excitement about a film's progress. Whether this is just self-promotion[宣传] or real excitement, it's good to hear from the always-dependable[可靠的] Disney-Pixar team. Once again, they have outdone themselves[超过自己原有水平]. While every other studio is cashing in [从……获利] on the popularity of animated creatures, Disney-Pixar is moving into new areas.
