阅读匹配题是高职高专英语应用能力考试（PRETCO）第三大项阅读理解中的Task 4部分。该题分值为5分，从整个考试题型来看，该部分阅读量不大，但分值却较高，应该是考生认真对待的拿分题。但在实际做题中，有不少学生却因为对该题出题形式不熟悉或仅仅因为匆匆浏览一下题目觉得条目多太繁琐而产生畏难情绪，进而对该部分题消极应付，以致失分较多，非常可惜。
笔者根据多年PRETCO辅导经验，总结该题解题技巧，认为考生只要认真抓住该题Directions（解题要求）和Example（举例）中出现的一些信息提示，再运用逐步缩小选择范围的排除法，就可大大提高该题的解题速度和正确率，从而使该题成为自己的快速拿分题。
首先，在Directions（解题要求）中通常会在第一句话中指明列出的专门用语是什么领域的，例如：The following is a list of terms used in the Internet.考生应该看清楚该领域名称（例如该题是因特网领域），这样就可以明确自己应该在哪个小范围内对应选择中文翻译，避免毫无头绪地苦思冥想。
其次，题目是以英文字母顺序从大写字母A至R，列出18个英文专门用语，同时还会给出一个Example（举例）。例如，Example：（A）缩位拨号码（H）预定信息业务，其实已有两个专门用语相对应的中文翻译出现了，那么在考生需要答题的10个字母选项中，Example（举例）中出现的两个字母就已被排除了，考生此时实际上已经缩小了选择范围，只需在16个英文专门用语中进行选择。看到Example（举例），考生应该立刻将该两个选项字母在题目列表中做上记号，做题时就不用再看该两个选项了。
最后，该题因为是差额选择（16选10），所以不能用一一对应的排除选择法，但考生可以根据自己对选择答案的把握程度，按照从最有把握的选项到最没有把握选项的优先顺序逐次选择，并每次选一题答案就在列表中对应项上做一个记号，逐步排除已做记号选项，缩小选择范围，如此一来每次选择只要看没做记号的用语列表就行，直到把题目中10个选项全部做完，这样既节省了做题时间又增加了做题准确率。
