London Bowl 伦敦碗

The “London Bowl” is the main stadium (体育馆) for London 2012 Olympic Games. It is similar to the “Nest” of Beijing Olympic Games. Opening and closing ceremonies (仪式) will be held here. “London Bowl” is considered as the “beating heart” of 2012 Olympic Games. The outside of the “London Bowl” is white. It is narrow at the bottom and wide at the top. It looks like a bowl. The structure (结构) is very simple. It is different from the magnificent (宏伟的) style of the former (以前的) Olympics. The idea that it can be torn down makes it unique (与众不同的).

“伦敦碗”是伦敦奥运会的主会场，与北京奥运会的“鸟巢”有些相似。伦敦奥运会的开幕式和闭幕式都将在这里举行。“伦敦碗”被誉为伦敦奥运“跳动的心脏”。“伦敦碗”的外观全部为白色，外形下窄上宽，酷似一个汤碗，结构形式简单明快，与历届奥运会主会场追求宏大气势有很大区别。特别是其可拆卸的设计理念更使得“伦敦碗”显得与众不同，独树一帜。

There are 80 thousand seats, among which 25 thousand seats at the bottom and 55 thousand seats at the top. It can meet the needs of the Olympic Games. After the Olympic Games, the 25 thousand seats at the bottom will be reserved (保留) and the other seats will be torn down. It will be rebuilt as a community activity place.

主体育场共设8万个坐席，其中碗底部分设置2.5万个坐席，上部设置5.5万个坐席，完全可以满足奥运会体育赛事的要求。奥运会结束后，除了保留碗底2.5万个固定坐席，其他的坐席将全部被拆除，整个体育场将改建成一个社区活动的场所。

Beside the “London Bowl”, there is a red iron building with a screwy (扭曲的) and exaggerative (夸张的) style. It is Arcelor Mittal Orbit Tower. It is 114.5 high and is made of 1500 ton iron. Some people say it is related to the lighting of the torch (火炬). Some people say that the screwy shape is a metaphor (暗喻) of the Five Olympic Rings. And more people think it is the signal transmitting center.

“伦敦碗”旁边是一栋造型扭曲夸张、泛着耀眼红色的钢铁建筑，叫做安赛乐米塔尔轨道塔，高114.5米，由1500吨钢铁建造而成。有人说这个建筑与点燃火炬有关，有人说扭曲的形状暗喻奥运五环，更多人认为这是信号发射中心。

Swimming Hall 游泳馆

Not far from the “London Bowl”, it is the Olympic swimming hall. It is designed by a famous English female architect (建筑师) Zaha Hadid. At first, she designed a “wave”. Considering the seats were not enough, she added a pair of “wings” for the “wave”. So the seats can be increased from 2.5 thousand to 17.5 thousand. The hall is blue and white to draw people’s attention. As for the seats at the two sides of the swimming pool, the designer uses the nature light shadow to make the audience (观众) not see the other side. So they can pay attention to the swimming pool.

离“伦敦碗”不远的地方，是伦敦奥运游泳馆，由英国知名女建筑师扎哈·哈迪德设计。原本扎哈设计了一片“海浪”，但考虑到座位不够，后来又给“海浪”安上一双“翅膀”，这样就可以把座位从原本的2500个增加到17500个。整个游泳馆采用蓝白两色，用来吸引观众的注意力；而游泳池两侧的座位，则利用自然光线形成的阴影，让坐在看台上的观众看不到另一边，把注意力集中到泳池。

Basketball Hall 篮球馆

As the third largest venue in the Olympic Park, the basketball hall will hold the basketball finals (决赛), the handball finals, wheelchair (轮椅) basketball game and wheelchair rugby (橄榄球) game. It is also the athletes’ rest place during the opening and closing ceremonies. The project sponsor of the basketball hall Snoddy says, “The basketball hall is one of the largest venues in modern Olympics. It will provide the audience and the athletes a wonderful experience that they have never had.” After the games, two-thirds of the materials will be reused or recycled (回收).

作为奥林匹克公园内的第三大场馆，奥运篮球馆将举办篮球、手球决赛和轮椅篮球、轮椅橄榄球的比赛，也将成为开幕式和闭幕式期间运动员候场的地点。篮球馆项目主办人Snoddy说道：“篮球馆将是现代奥运中面积最大的场馆之一，将为观众和参赛运动员提供一种前所未有的精彩体验。”比赛结束后，三分之二的材料将再利用或回收。
