A tortoise and a soft-shelled turtle are living in a small pool, there is a stake in the middle of the pool. In hot summer, the tortoise and the soft-shelled turtle have basked their shells on the stake, so the stake doesn't belong to anyone.

一只乌龟和一只鳖鱼同时生活在一口浅水塘里。这口水塘的中间有一个木桩露出了水面,在一个炎热的夏天,乌龟和鳖鱼都曾在木桩上晒过壳,不存在属于谁的问题。

One day, the tortoise come first step, to bask his shell on the stake. At this time, the soft-shelled turtle came here too, and saw the tortoise, said angrily: "Tortoise, you must came down quickly. Yesterday I basked my shell, so the stake is mine!" The tortoise said: "Wow, I basked my shell the day before yesterday, the stake is mine!" The soft-shelled turtle said: "I did three days ago!" The tortoise said: "I did four days ago!" They argued fiercely.

一天,乌龟先来一步,在木桩上晒壳。这时,鳖鱼也来晒壳了,看到乌龟,就生气地说:“乌龟,你快下来。我昨天就在这晒过壳,这木桩是我的!”乌龟说:“喂,我前天就在这晒过壳,这木桩是我的!”鳖鱼说:“我大前天!”乌龟说:“我大大前天!”他们争吵得厉害。

The soft-shelled turtle said: "If you don't come down, I will climb up to bite you." The tortoise said: "I 'm not afriad that you bite me, how senior are you!" The soft-shelled turtle climbed up the stake, and push the tortoise into the water, he stood on the stake. The tortoise was angry too, also climbed up and push the soft-shelled turtle down. And so, you push me down, I push you down.

鳖鱼说:“你再不下来,我就爬上来咬你了。”乌龟说:“我不怕你咬,你鳖鱼算老几。”鳖鱼就爬上木桩,用力把乌龟挤下了水,自己站到了木桩上。乌龟也气不过,也爬上去把鳖挤下来。就这样,你把我挤下来,我把你挤下来。

Finally, they are all exhausted, their legs are injured. They only thought the stake, not paying attention to that the sun has set, so they both didn't bask their shells that day.

最后,他们都筋疲力尽了,他们的腿也都受伤了。他们只顾争木桩,没有注意到太阳已经下山了,那天他们两个都晒不到壳了。
