These days everything is getting a reboot[重新启动]
it seems, and Jane Eyre is no exception. The
English classic written in 1847 by Charlotte Bronte has already been done and redone many times.
The most recent film adaptation[改编] by Franco Zeffirelli starred[由……主演] a soulful[深情的] and dark haired Anna Paquin, who gave a brilliant performance
as the young Jane Eyre in 1996. However, it seems in Hollywood there is a belief that the reboot is king and that every new generation needs a new
interpretation[诠释].
So a version for this decade is coming to a screen near you starring Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland). Hailed[欢呼，致敬] as one of Variety’s top ten actors to watch in 2008, Wasikowska will add a dark side to the film simply by being in it.
Jane Eyre has already had numerous silver screen reincarnations[化身，再生], over 20 film interpretations on both film and TV together over the last 100 years. It seems that films like these forever capture our imagination
since they deal with the timeless and universal[普遍的]
themes of morality[道德], social standing, religion, love, passion, redemption[救赎] and forgiveness. This is a story that expresses the whole human condition. How can we not be mesmerized[迷住] by it? Every time the tale of Jane Eyre is told it seems we are hoping to tell it from a place of greater enlightenment[启迪].
This version of the classic promises to be darker and darker than any adaptation that has come before. And it has to be something special because I must ask the question, how many times can a story be told?
At the helm[掌舵，掌权] Cary Fukunaga (Sin Nombre) sits in the director’s chair, Judi Dench (A Room with a View, Shakespeare in Love) as Mrs. Fairfax, and
Michael Fassbender (Inglorious Bastards and the
upcoming X-Men: First Class) as the secretive[遮遮掩掩的]
Lord Edward Rochester. Rounding out[圆满完成] the cast is the guileless[正直的] Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot and King Kong), and the whimsical[古怪的] Tamzin Merchant (Pride & Prejudice with Keira Knightley, and Showtime’s
The Tudors). So what can go wrong? One thing that is for certain is that as March approaches, this is one film that will garner[收集，得到] great expectations.
The Storyline
After a bleak[令人沮丧的] childhood, Jane Eyre goes out into the world to become a governess. As she lives happily in her new position at Thornfield Hall, she meets the cold and abrupt[粗鲁的] master of the house, Mr. Rochester. Jane and her employer grow close in friendship, and she soon finds herself
falling in love with him. Happiness seems to have found Jane at last, but could Mr. Rochester’s terrible secret be about to destroy it forever?

故事简介

一百多年来，艺术家们通过各种艺术形式对《简・爱》进行阐释。另外，还有很多作品是以它为灵感创作的。
奥逊・威尔斯（1944年）、提摩西・道尔顿（1983年）以及威廉・赫特（1996年）被《华盛顿邮报》的一篇文章评为最令人难忘的罗切斯特先生。其中英国广播公司（BBC）1983年的《简・爱》迷你剧时长5个半小时，是迄今为止最长的一个版本，也被很多人认为是所有版本中最忠于原著的一个。（BBC还在1963年、1973年和2006年推出过其他版本的《简・爱》。）比较有名的改编还包括萨曼莎・莫顿主演的1997年电视版。
