jiangsu juvenile And children’s publishing House is a professional Press with children as its main audience, which mainly publishing the juvenile readings like literature, animation, infant, knowledge, education, etc., and GB materials (the National Standard Textbooks) of Fine Arts, Music as well as the Children’s periodicals like Oriental Baby, Oriental Doll, Children's Story Illustrated, Juvenile Literature, Phoenix Animation, and Child Care 100, etc. And all kinds of children's books have won numerous national awards, and have enjoyed a good reputation among the industries and readers, and was rated as a National Top 100 Book Publishing Unit by the General Administration of Press and Publication.

Jiangsu Juvenile And Children’s Publishing House has attached great importance to the development and promotion of export-oriented books, and has made the publication of the “Out-Going” books as the press's key product line. Each column and each editorial office have studied the overseas book markets and the demands of the readers seriously, and have planned to publish various children reading materials suitable for the overseas promotion, aiming at the reading features of different age levels of the Children. Firstly, the output varieties of the Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) regions have increased year by year.

In recent years, the book copyright output of Jiangsu Juvenile And Children’s Publishing House has been continuing heating up, especially the number of the output varieties of the NCS regions has increased year by year. The NCS regional output has reached 31 species in 2011, ranking at the leading level in the province and even in the same industry.

Secondly, the copyright trade has won several honors.

Due to the prominent achievements of the copyright trade work, our Press was rated as the “Advanced Publishing Unit for National Book Copyright Output” by GAPP, while the relevant staffs were rated as “National Outstanding Copyright Managers”. The projects of “construction of the copyright trade platform and the external promotion of children's books” of our Press were funded by the guide funding of Jiangsu Province for cultural industries.

In addition, the imported and exported books of our Press have won dozens of various professional awards cumulatively, such as, “I Know It” the Infant Science Book of Fairy Tales (Thai Version), Kiss My Mother (Korean Version), Talk With Tree (Korean Version), Bronze Sunflower (French Version: Bronze et Tournesol), etc., which has won the Outstanding Output Book Awards of Chinese Publishers Association, and such as, Collected Translations of Saplings, Happy Learning of Winnie the Pooh Series (15 Volumes), Buffet Collection for Children's Spiritual Growth, etc., which has won the Outstanding Import Book Awards of Chinese Publishers Association.

Thirdly, the original children's literature works of Jiangsu Juvenile And Children’s Publishing House were very popular at abroad.

The publication of the original works of children's literature is the focus of the 12th Five-Year Plan for Jiangsu Juvenile And Children’s Publishing House. In recent years, Jiangsu Juvenile And Children’s Publishing House has made efforts to win the high-end resources and the original resources of top writers, and has exerted itself to expand the team of authors at the production line, and enhance the quality of books, and build the national first-class children's literature publishing base, which laying a solid foundation for the “Out-Going” of the original books.

For example, in Germany, Yi Sike Press has bought the German version copyright of Blue Five-pointed Star, and White Shells, written by Cheng Wei. And after the publication of the German version translation White Tower, based on the two books above, it won the Foreign Literature Nomination Award for the Imported Version, which was rated by Germany Frankfurt Book Center.

In France, Edition Philippe Picquier has bought the European Community version copyright of I Will Be a Good Child, and Kiss My Mother, written by Huang Beijia. After the publication of the books, it drew the French authors’ attention and was printed for several times.

In 2011, French Book Club (France Loisirs) bought the club copyright of Bronze Sunflower (Bronze et Tournesol), written by Cao Wenxuan, which triggered a burst of bronze sunflower (Bronze et Tournesol) hot in Paris. The book was first printed for 4,000 copies. And it was the second French edition of Bronze Sunflower (Bronze et Tournesol). Before that, the French version of Bronze Sunflower (Bronze et Tournesol) had been published by Edition Philippe Picquier, which had been thought highly of by the readers. In 2012, the book was chosen by the British WALKER publishing company, which was ready to buy the copyright of the global English version.

In South Korea, after the output of Kiss My Mother, I Will Be a Good Child, and I am flying, written by Huang Beijia, Korean readers thought that her works were of great affinity. In 2012, Korea Bori Press has made a decision of “30 Children's Literature Works Plan of China for a Century”, and the books series of Cao Wenxuan, Huang Beijia, Jin Bo and Shan Yingqi were selected for this plan, and the copyright of which were bought as well.

The Spanish version copyright and Indonesian version copyright of the traditional cultural books series for infant popularity of our Press, the “Illustrated Classics Phonetic Version” series (A Dream of Red Mansions, Journey to the West, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Outlaws of the Marsh), has been bought by Mexico Custer Press and Indonesia Unicom Bookstore respectively.

In recent years, our Press has established stable relations of cooperation with more than 30 publishers of many countries, including Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom, France, South Korea, the United States, Switzerland, Canada, etc.

The import books are published mainly in the form of books and magazines.

And there are two types of works published in the form of books:

1. To develop the local books through the introduction of the foreign classic images, such as, the introduction of the images of Mickey, Winnie the Pooh of the Walt Disney Company of the U.S., the images of Doraemon of the Shogakukan of Japan, the images of Hello Kitty of Sanrio Company of Japan, the images of Olivia of British Awesome Product Company, and the images of Transformers of Hasbro of the U.S., etc.

2. The best-sellers and award-winning books at abroad: The Most Beautiful Popularization of Science (6 Volumes) of Children’s Entertainment and Cartoons Press of Germany, the Egmont company's award-winning work of Where Are the Whales, the Dutch best-sellers of children's literature classics of Little Finger’s Adventures (12), Buffet Collection for Children's Spiritual Growth (10 Volumes) of Jitan Educational Publishing Company of South Korea, etc.

And there are two types of works published in the form of magazines:

1. The outstanding foreign picture books, which are mainly published in serialized and offprint booklet form through the Oriental Doll magazines, such as, Rhino Itch of Little Tiger Publishing Company of the UK, the I Love You, Little Monkey of Simon & Schuster Inc., of the UK, the My Tail of Hansol Company of South Korea, etc.

2. The foreign popularization of science knowledge books, which are mainly published in serialized and offprint booklet form through the Children's Story Illustrated, Discovery, and Nature Quest magazines, such as, the introduction of natural science of the Incredible Nature and 12 Months in the Forest from Annette Baez Press, the Perspective Eyes of the British DK Company, etc.

The above imported books have a positive impact on the strengthening of the Chinese and foreign publishing exchange, and the formation of the interaction of copyright trade.

Fifth, explore the overseas promotion of digital copyright actively.

In 2010, Jiangsu Juvenile And Children’s Publishing House actively explored the overseas output of the books digital copyrights. At the end of 2011,“I Am Great” Picture Book for Infant Growth Bilingual Edition (20 Volumes), achieved the copyright authorization of multimedia interactive platform from Apple Inc. of the U.S. And the “I Know It” the Infant Science Book of Fairy Tales (12 Volumes) drew the attention of the online application store (App Store Online) of Apple Inc. of the U.S., which signed a sales agreement of multimedia online digital copyrights for the first series with 9 languages, including English, French, German, Japanese, and Korean, etc., with our Press.

With the development of multimedia and new formats, on the one hand, Jiangsu Juvenile And Children’s Publishing House has been actively developing the digital products; on the other hand, it has been strengthening the promotion of digital copyright, and has been seizing the initiatives and good opportunities for the development of the copyright trade work in the future.
