Nacho Polo Interior Designer

在这套公寓中,各种单品和陈设随处可见:例如,Marcel Wanders的设计单品“Carbon Chair”、 Maarten Baas的“Where is the smoke”设计系列单品、还有建筑师Eero Koivisto、Piero Lissoni、Hans J.Vegner、Eero Aarnio的作品以及艺术家David Lachapelle的艺术作品。

This house is an apartment of my property dated of 19th century, located in

Madrid, Spain in one of the nicest environments of the city, next to the OPERA ,

the ROYAL PALACE and his gardens called LA PLAZA DE ORIENTE, which I

reformed completely.

The biggest challenge of this project was to recover the historical memory of the

original apartment dating from the early nineteenth century. Its last owner had

killed the essence of becoming an apartment house of the nineteenth century by

making it an apartment of the 70's, an authentic outrage!

Recovering the original wood floors, wood carpentry, iron radiators, period

moldings with ceiling heights of the apartment was the priority, then moving

towards giving more natural light into the house recovering windows that had

been covered and creating new and ample space to provide new and bright

environments. Since there were numerous small rooms, it was decided to lower

that amount in order to make room for much broader and useful spaces.

I was looking for a visual cleanliness. I like breaking the rules of the scales like

furniture of big format, and I always look for experimental pieces and works of

different contemporary art. In this house you can find Design pieces of Marcel Wanders like his wonderful 'Carbon Chair’, pieces of the collection 'Where is the smoke' by Maarten Baas, also pieces of the architect Eero Koivisto, Piero Lissoni, Hans J.Vegner, Eero

Aarnio or ART of David Lachapelle between others.

The mirror in the dressing room was designed in particular for this home and

later was produced by the name of ‘Twenty-Seven MIRROR’ as a limited edition

by nacho polo. I also wanted to mix the contemporary ART with antique pieces as a for example the chandeliers that I bought in Paris or London.
