Abstract. With the development of the modern information technology, the new media has been widely infiltrated into all aspects of the university life, which has a profound impact on the students' thinking, learning and communication. Based on the new media technology as the carrier, this article studies the college students' outlook on life. On the basis of the brief understanding of the situation of college students' use of the new media, the author further strengthens the concept of life education of college students in the use of new media technologies, and the innovation of the concept of life education, to realize the network education and modernization of university students’ view of life, and to enhance the effectiveness of life education of college students.

Marx said, "The first premise of all human history is without doubt the existence of the individual". But now many students lack correctly understanding and grasping of life. They go the Dutch act, and they are violent. Such events disregarding life emerge in an endless stream, which brings the negative influence on students' personal, families, schools, and the society. At present, the development of the new media technology has profoundly changed the social environment of the ideological and political education of college students. The new media with the Internet, mobile phones, and the digital TV as the representatives have changed the mode of information dissemination fundamentally, which has exerted a far-reaching influence on the communication of cultural information. College students have become the most active groups who most widely use the new media technologies. Therefore, in the information age, with the new media technology as the carrier, to strengthen college students to understand life, cherish life, and respect life can effectively prevent the campus malignant events. At the same time, through effective means of education, providing the ultimate life care for the college students will contribute to the perfection of college students’ personality and the establishment of a correct outlook on life and values, so as to cope with the challenges of the modern society, and enhance the realm of life.

1. The connotation of life education and the characteristics of life

1-1. The connotation of life education

Life education is not only the education for the whole humans, but also is the specific educational programs or courses, to promote the balanced development of the individuals in the physiological, psychological, social, moral and spiritual aspects, in order to establish the relationship of mutual respect and harmony between ourselves and others, the environment and the universe, to assist in the pursuit of the meaning and value of life, in order to achieve a healthy and positive life.

1-2. The characteristics of life

1-2-1. Process concepts

As long as people are born, they are to sit on the train of life, and the life has entered the countdown, and the train journey is full of joy and pain, as the sentence goes we often say that we are suffering but happy, which is the process of life.

1-2-2. Being value

Life is the basis for people to enjoy all the rights, and is the basis to create all the value and meaning life. Life is not everything, but without life all is nothing, so there is no dress rehearsal in life, but will be always live.

1-2-3. Fragility

Any natural calamities and man-made misfortunes can make the fragile life disappear. For example, in the Wenchuan earthquake, tens of thousands of people suddenly lost, so life is very precious, but life is very fragile.

Everyone is the world's only one, and there are no two exactly similar faces in the world, so life is irreplaceable.

2. Current situation of life education at home and abroad

2-1. Status of foreign life education

Modern life education is the idea first proposed in 1968 by the American scholar Tang Noah Walters. At the beginning it was the death education mode, of which the main purpose is for the teenagers to know the kind of life, and to cherish life. "Life Education Center" was established in Australia in 1979. In 1989, Japan has revised the "Syllabus", with their orientation life education as the important content of moral education. In addition, New Zealand, Britain and other countries have also set up life education curriculums.

2-2. The current situation of life education in Taiwan and Hongkong of China

In 1997, the life education curriculum in China Taiwan had consistent, complete, and all-covered development. In 1999 the Hongkong Catholic Education Committee launched the love and life education curriculums.

2-3. The current situation of life education in the mainland of China

Shanghai city in 2004 enacted the "Guidelines of life education for the middle and primary school in Shanghai city". Beijing Normal University, Wuhan University, Huazhong Normal University, and Jiangxi Normal University in 2007 began to promote the university life education. Wuhan University in 2008 listed the course of life education in the curriculum plan, and Yunnan province began to implement "the education project of life, survival and living" for all types of school students in 2008. But the outback life education curriculum in China has not started to spread, which is still not popular.

3. The penetration and influence of media in the formation of college students' life values

3-1. The penetration and influence of the mass media in the formation of college students' life value in the university period

College students are in the early adulthood, and the value of life has been basically formed. In their hearts there exists the basic research on the meaning of life and the value of existence. Since then, as the experience becomes enriched, their life values will have further developed; and what urges them to complete this profound exploration is the unconscious influence of the society, schools, families and other living environment before the university period.

Among the various factors, the influence of the media is one of the factors closely related to college students which belong to the social influencing category. Contemporary college students grew up in the "nourishing" of the media, and from the childhood, television images have given them about the mass media's enlightenment cognition. Since then, newspapers, magazines, radio, Internet and other media start flood their lives.

In the survey samples, 86% of the students said they have heavy exposure to TV in the primary school age, and the types of programs focus on children's programs, TV drama, science programs and so on. 27% of them also often contacted networks, magazines, newspapers and other media. In the high schools, in the sample only 14% of the students contacted a large number of TV, and the programs are main three types of popular science, news, dramas, movies etc. During this period, broadcast, magazines, Internet and other media go halves on a fifty-fifty basis, and according to their own hobbies, students will choose corresponding forms of media to have access to information. However, the contact time with the media is short, and the vast majority of the respondents said that in the high school, the weekly contact time with various media is less than a total of five hours.

The trend for the contemporary college students in the university period to contact the media is: in the primary school period they are exposed to all kinds of TV programs, while in the middle schools the time to contact the media is greatly reduced, but the type of contacting the media is variable. Since students of this period are at an important stage of personality development and the media have the most profound influence on the development of the students' values, and also have the potential instructive function of the thinking and behavior of the students in the entering university.

3-2. The current media environment and the re-shaping of the college students' life values

After entering the universities, students have access to more complex media environment. According to the results of the survey, the contemporary college students rely on the network more significantly: 94% of the college students go surfing the Internet at least twice a week, and 36% of the students said they are on the internet almost every day. That is to say, the network communication plays a very important role in the college students. In today's trend of the media convergence, through the Internet to watch all kinds of programs has become the contemporary college students' interest hobby. Although the students have spent the main character formative period, and initially set up their own life values, the complexity of the network environment is far greater than other media environment, and also the psychological development of college students is still not mature, all kinds of complicated news in the network, the films and games obtained through the network, and other recreational activities will affect the students' value judgments.

The survey found that 38.2% of the girls thought that there will be a period of time for them to hang up on seeing some blood and violent words or videos. And this phenomenon will exist in 21.5% of the boys in the survey. For the programs similar to the experts diagnosing or psychological counseling which appear more and more on TV, quite part of the students are more exclusive, and they think that there will be some adverse hints. We also found on the forum of some school students that they more or less have some advice on the network, television and newspapers. Most students think in the process of their usual browsing the web sites there will appear advertisements with some negative information. But in newspapers and other paper media, students reflect that although usually they have less contact, they will also find the bloody, violent words, un-modified pictures on tragedy and so on. So, all such will become the factors which will affect the re-shaping of the life values of college students.

4. ways to carry out the life education of college students in the new media environment

First, give full play to the role of the new media technology in the classrooms, and strengthen students' consciousness and good behavior habit. In the classroom teaching, we should fully tap the contents related to the view of life in various disciplines, and use the new media technology to make into the video software or the electronic publications, to strengthen the students' positive education of life. For example, in the course of ideological and political courses, we should make full use of videos, short films, electronic publications and other audio-visual courseware and dig deep the thought contents, to strengthen the students’ education of ideological, moral and personality cultivation, the mental health and consciousness of acts, and to cultivate their sense of gratitude, life, consciousness and human consciousness.

Second, carry out the campus network culture activities beneficial to students, in order to uplift influence on the healthy life consciousness and the moral behavior. Use some of the major festivals and celebrations, with the new media technology as the carrier, to combine the contents of the education into the activities, to give students the unconscious education effect. And let the humanity education, life education into the brain and heart, so as to cultivate their sentiments, and purify the souls. For example, use the "International Day against drugs" to carry out the oath or electronic signature theme activities of "cherishing life, away from drugs", to teach the students to understand life, cherish life, respect life and love life. Use the "Father's Day", "Mother's Day", "Double Ninth Festival" and other festivals, to make electronic greeting cards, e-mails and son on together with the students, to transfer the affection, friendship and the emotion of respecting the old and cherishing the young, to strengthen the education of students' sense of gratitude and psychological behavior.

Third, occupy the main positions of the new media, and let the students participate in the new media, to feel the fun of life. First of all, guide online to arouse their emotions with the interest. Let the students collect the materials on the Internet and store the life education information by using the school life education network, which is more effective than the teachers’ classroom indoctrination lectures. Students choose to collect information in the network according to their learning needs and their personality characteristics. Observe and experience the human life, to make the life education not "boring". Secondly, set the Internet environment to stimulate their interest with love. After using the network, the way of presenting knowledge is not only the sound and texts, and there are also the images, videos and so on, whose image is lifelike, and is more conducive to stimulate students' interest in life education. Once again, publish online, to consolidate their emotions with appreciation. In the process of education, students can complete the self training through the related information in the network, and can at any time publish the feelings or opinions on the webpage, to make the students appreciate them. The teachers accurately and quickly understand the student's education, timely evaluate and guide the students to feel the gains and losses, and understand experience information after the education.

Fourth, set up counselors of the network. The Internet counselors do not carry out life education by classes or face-to-face communication. They compare notes, communicate and guide the audience through the "media" of the network, so as to achieve the purpose of life education. The Internet counselors should not only understand the new media technology, skills, be familiar with the network habits of college students and the network languages, but also should understand the new features and the new rules of life education in the conditions of new media, and should have the ability to timely capture college students' ideological trend on the new media platform, find the symptom of a trend and effectively guide them at any time. Not only are there emergency disposal ability in the post, more important is that in the daily work, we can take the initiative to plan and use the new media to unconsciously guide the students, to become the network speech authority the students' trust.

Fifth, in the news reports on the unexpected social hot spots, fully consider the social effects, and report reasonably to avoid exaggerated reports. In the face of such emergencies as "jumping off the building in Foxconn" and "Yao Jiaxin murder", the media should have the objective and rational media literacy. Because of the characteristics of fast spread, wide coverage and strong interaction, the network is easy to become the "pioneer" of such news reports. In the process of the report, avoid vulgar, bloody and sensational reports, and should be based on facts, rationally analyze, and comprehensively think, to seek to restore the original events to the maximum and reduce the negative impact the audience may have. At the same time, the network and other media as the "opinion leaders", must fully weigh, and avoid partial to one side and mislead the public.

5. Conclusion

Life education is one of the themes of the times, and is a process of dynamic development, which cannot be accomplished at one stroke. Therefore, we should make full use of the media resources, to create professional psychological counseling platforms for the contemporary college students. This is a long-term task, and is an important measure of the media to interiorize in-depth the college students’ hearts. The mass media need to adhere to the long-term, continuously innovate, give full play to the role of the "opinion leader", and focus on the positive influence of the life values of college students, to achieve the "grasping for long" and "updating regularly" of the life education work of the contemporary university students.
