As the guest of honor in this year''s London Book Fair, China shows the ambitious and power of the internalization strategy of publication industry. Powerful combination, resources complement and strategic combination... In the first half of this year, publication companies made frequent moves, which were commendable.
On January 9th, Press and Publication Administration introduced the first important file this year, Some Suggestions about Accelerating Chinese News Publication Industry "going out". It made an all-round layout for news publication industry "going out" from nation''s level.
On April 16th, China showed as the "market focus" guest of honor in the international stage in London Book Fair. 181 publishing businesses, more than 1000 publishers, 10 thousand books, 1000 books that showed the achievements of Chinese and English translations, 1859 exported copyrights, 1411 imported copyrights…A series of high-end activities made China be worthy of the name of "market focus".
On April 17th, Zhejiang Publishing United Group Co., Ltd and British Propeller TV signed publishing cooperation framework agreement in London, conducting cooperation in publishing and issuing fields. Based on the China Topics on Propeller TV, they publish English books that face English readers; they cooperate to establish Chinese learning programs; they develop new media businesses such as TV book shopping, digital reading and online book shopping.
On April 18th, Phoenix Publishing & Media Group founded the first overseas company entity, Phoenix Media International (London) Co., LTD. With Chinese Founder''s ink printing equipment and technology, this company established a digital printing base in Essex, England, expanding businesses such as copyright trade and creative design.
On May 15th, Chinese Writers Publishing Group and China International Publishing Group signed strategic cooperation framework agreement, aiming at taking their own advantages to introduce more outstanding writers and works to overseas. Chinese Literature project, cooperated by Writers Publishing House and New World Press is the first achievement of the two groups'' strategic cooperation.
On May 16th, China Publishing Group, British Aurora Publishing LLC, and Nottingham University Business School signed a memorandum of strategic cooperation, taking international joint school operation as point cut, making new attempt in internationalization strategy. This was the first time that Chinese publishing industry entering overseas education industry.
On May 24th, Xinhua Winshare Publishing and Media Co. Ltd and New World Press, a unit of China International Publishing Group, signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement. By integrating the resources of industry chain upstream and downstream, they want to open the channel of copyright import and export. Winshare will take part in the shareholding reform of New World Press and make strategic investment in this press.
