Coke or Pepsi? Well, it’s a matter of taste. But police say it’s also a rivalry[对抗] that turned violent outside that Wal-Mart in Indiana. They tell us drivers from Coke and Pepsi were there delivering the products when a verbal[口头的] argument escalated[逐步升级], and more. Each claims that the other tried to run him over with pallets[货盘] full of pop[（口）汽水].

Police: As the victim left the store, then the suspect came over and got into a physical confrontation[冲突] with him and struck him a few times.

Police suspect the Coke guy of pushing and the Pepsi guy of blowing his top, throwing at least two pops over pop.

Police: He hit him in the face, gave him a black eye, apparently[显然地] broke his nose.

The throw-down may be a first, but both companies regularly spend millions of dollars a year duking[用拳头争斗] it out with competing advertising campaign.

Interviewee A: Coke.

Correspondant: Why?

Interviewee A: Just tastes better.

Interviewee B: I’m gonna have to say Pepsi.

The owner of Coke’s Market in Greensburg says most of the folks there like Pepsi better with nearly 75% of the market share. But nationally, Coke is number one, which makes the competition over shelf-space fierce.

Coke’s Market Owner: Most places have to pay premium[额外费用] prices for each lineal[直线的] foot of shelf space. Especially when you get into the frozen food, beverages[饮料], cigarrette companies.

Coke would only say their guy is doing OK after the fight. Pepsi said their man has been canned[解雇].
