罗迪是一只住在肯辛顿（伦敦富人区）的老鼠，过着无忧无虑的生活，并经常以“罗迪・圣・詹姆斯”自居―因为这个姓氏让他显得高人一等。然而，一只从洗手池里爬出来的下水道老鼠改变了他的命运―罗迪被冲到下水道，开始了他在鼠国的历险。罗迪遇到了一只名叫丽塔的雌老鼠，并说服她帮他回家。时值世界杯比赛期间，正当所有老鼠都在观看比赛时，下水道的恶棍癞蛤蟆正在策划一个阴谋―他要杀掉所有老鼠，把下水道变成癞蛤蟆的世界！

Roddy: Well, after a hard day of navigating[航行] sewer[下水道] pipes, there’s nothing better than relaxing in a Jacuzzi whirlpool bath.
Sid: That looks so inviting[诱人的].
Roddy: Yes, yes, the water looks perfect. Now you…hop in and I’ll press this lever[杠杆] to get the bubbles going.
Sid: Right, in we go! Oh, wait wait wait wait wait! I know we got off on the wrong foot[一开始不顺利] before, right? But, you know, I really think we’re gonna get along, don’t you?
Roddy: Swimmingly[顺利地]!
Sid: Be seeing you, my friend. (pushes Roddy)
Roddy: Ooooh!
Sid: You plonker[笨蛋]! You think I don’t know a toilet when I see one? You were gonna flush me down the loo[厕所]!
Roddy: No! No no no! It’s a big Jacuzzi! Deluxe[豪华的] model!
Sid: Then you won’t mind if I get the bubbles going, will ya?
Roddy: No! Not the lever! Have mercy! No! I can’t swim!
Sid: Bon voyage, me old cream cracker! Hold your nose.
Roddy: You can’t do this!
Sid: You were gonna try and flush me. Let’s see how you like it.

罗迪误打误撞地上了丽塔的船，并告诉后者她千辛万苦从癞蛤蟆手里夺回来的红宝石是假货，让丽塔既恼怒又伤心。
Roddy: Rita?
Rita: Just go away, please.
Roddy: I’m sorry.
Rita: Sorry? Me and my dad worked these drains[排水沟] for years. He broke every bone in his body trying to get that ruby. It was gonna be the answer to all our prayers. Now it turns out it was a stupid fake.
Roddy: Well, may-maybe I can make it up to you.
Rita: Get stuffed[（俚）见鬼去吧].
Roddy: No no no, I mean it. See, back at my place we’ve got, we’ve got a jewelry box crammed[填满] with rubies and diamonds, real ones, so, all you have to do is get me home to Kensingtonand I’ll make you rich beyond your wildest dreams.
Rita: How do I know this ain’t just a load of old rubbish?
Roddy: Well, I suppose you’ll just have to trust me.
Rita: I must be out of my mind. Alright, you got yourself a deal.

Rita: Well, we better get some rest if we’re going to get you home tomorrow. Tell me about yourself, Roddy.
Roddy: Well, there’s not much to tell.
Rita: You know everything about me, warts and all[不隐瞒缺点]. I don’t even know what you do!
Roddy: I’m, ah…Ｉ’m in a boy band.
Rita: What?
Roddy: Yeah, yeah. I’m the posh[时髦的] one.
Rita: (laughing) I’m serious. Tell me about your life up top ?friends, family.
Roddy: Uh?Rita: You do have a family, don’t you?
Roddy: Of…Of course I do. Brothers, sisters, cousins, yeah, we’re…we’re quite a clan[部族]. Oh, you wouldn’t believe the fun we have ?hanging out at the movies, playing golf, going skiing. It’s just…just so great!
Rita: No wonder you wanna get home.
Roddy: Yeah.
Rita: Well, I guess tomorrow we’ll both get what we want.
Roddy: Good night.
Rita: Good night, Roddy.

Roddy: Rupert, this is Rita. She’s been so looking forward to meeting my brother.
Sid: Aaah.
Roddy: Obviously there’s, er, not a huge family resemblance[相似]. I rather got the brains and, uh, well, actually I got the looks too, but, heh, heh, we’re very close, aren’t we, Rupert?
Sid: Uhm?Roddy: Well, how time flies when you’re having fun, still, on with the tour, shall we?
Rita: Hello, Sid.
Sid: Hello Rita. How’s your dad?
Rita: Better, yeah. Thanks for asking.
Sid: Rupert! HA, HA, HA, HAAA! What was that all about? Come here, you poor little thing. Look at his little face. You ever seen anything so pathetic[可怜的]? Brothers! HA, HA, HAAA! All Mr. Lonely has got is a couple of bowls and a little wheel to run around in his cage. Oh, this is too sweet! What’s a lo-o-o-o-o-ser!
Rita: It’s okay, Roddy.
Roddy: Huh! Okay? Look at this place, Rita, look at my home. It’s a palace. I can do whatever I want whenever I want to. I mean, I’d say that’s a little more than okay, wouldn’t you? I mean, what do I need a family for? What do I need friends for? I’m sorry, but if you have everything you need, then I really have to get going. I have a serious infestation[（害虫等）群袭] to deal with.
Rita: I’ll…say goodbye, then…Roddy St. James…of Kensington.
