英国Pace公司去年就在德国科隆展览会上展示了Pace DS 810型dvb-s2接收机的样机（见题头图）。今年初EURO1080 HDTV频道（己改称为:HD1、HD2、HD5）正式加密播出，德国卫星直播运营商Premiere也于2005年11月开播了电影、音乐和Discovery 三个高清（HD）频道，它们均采用DVB-S2的技术标准。与此同时，韩国Humax公司也在欧洲大力推广PR-HD 1000 HDTV接收机。

DVB-S工业标准从诞生至今己10余年，可开展HDTV、VOD、PPV以及交互业务等，需要卫星系统提供更多的频道及带宽。DVB-S2技术发展到今天，既克服了DVB-S的缺点,又可以向下兼容。当然，一旦完全采用DVB-S2，兼容DVB-S的那部分模块又显得多余。但我认为，两者会长期并存。国内已有单位在试播DVB-S2 HDTV的加密节目，今年世界上也还有不少电视台要播高清，今后DVB-S2是否会成为主流？我国直播卫星系统是否会使用DVB-S2技术？这一切还有待进一步观察。

Pace DS 810型DVB-S2 HDTV卫星接收机的主要技术特点如下（英文，该机器没有HDMI接口）：
